Kent Estabrooks, CPA, ICD.D
Kent has over 32 years of experience at the federal government in various capacities and with various departments. The majority of these years was spent as an executive in several domains, including: corporate services in various positions such as CFO, Head of HR, Finance, and Integrated Planning and Reporting, and Policy and Service Delivery at the Headquarters, Regional and District levels. His last position, before retiring in 2022, was as an EX-04 responsible for policy, strategy development and delivery of economic development programs and initiatives involving federal, provincial and international partnerships, a role he held for nearly 10 years.
Kent has led significant national, multi-department initiatives, served often as a witness on Parliamentary Committees, led two major workforce adjustment initiatives as the Head of Human Resources for his department, as well as served as Officer Responsible for the Disclosure of Wrongdoing, Champion for Official Languages and Champion for Mental Health. Kent also currently serves on the Board of Directors and as part of the Executive for the Association of Professional Executives for the Public Service of Canada.
Over the past number of years, Kent has extensively engaged in coach training and is certified as an Integral Master CoachTM as well as a Professional Certified Coach through the International Coaching Federation. He currently coaches teams, individual contributors, managers and senior leaders all over the world in both private and public sectors in several domains:
- Key leadership competency development;
- Career progression / transition coaching and guidance;
- Relationship building and networking;
- Interview preparation and mock interviews;
- Conflict resolution, performance management;
- Change and crisis management;
- Diversity and inclusion (he is also a member of an equity seeking group);
- Finding purpose and passion in work and life in general;
- Team building and effectiveness;
- Psychological safety and civility in the workplace.
Kent’s approach to coaching involves establishing a trusting connection and safe space for clients to share their honest objectives, and partners with them to explore feasible and sustainable ways for them to achieve these goals. As a life-long learner, Kent enjoys new adventures and travel and is a proud dad to two boys. He coaches mostly in English but is fluently bilingual and can also coach in French.
